I have an insane urge to paint or draw or SOMETHING, but there are only so many portraits I can do before I get bored with that!. I've never been good at coming up with ideas for paintings!. Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: One of the best ways I know is to set myself up a challenge to paint something I have never done before, to use colors I don't normally use, or work in a style I don't normally choose!. !. !. !. Another good way to break loose is to take your easel and paints outdoors and paint plein air! Www@QuestionHome@Com Hi, Indeed getting creative is not easy!. When one looks at works like those from Dali, one is absorbed by them often forgeting the mind that created them!. Or we could also mention Etcher!. Or trompe l'oeil works!. You can go outside, skecth something and then paint from it!. Many artists do small paintings outside and then build bigger and more developed versions in their studios!. Its like!.!. where don't you get inspiration!.!.!.All the episodes, even in evryday life can be easily a form of inspiration!. But if you really have trouble, I recomend you the following: 1!.-Look back in your life and find significant moments!. Try to manifest the emotions of this moment in your painting!. 2!.-Take some drugs, they help!.!.!. 3!.-Concentrate in a mundane thing, and think of evrything that implies!. 4!.-Try to describe a feeling, about a person 5!.-A landscape- 6!.-A historical moment!. 7!.-Some one that you admire!.!. 8--- 9--- 10--- So, in short!.
