Question: How can I dry roses to put them in a shadow-box!?
I'm going to Google it, but if you've done it before and like the way it turned out, could you please tell me how you did it!? Thanks :) xWww@QuestionHome@Com

Buy silica gel (used for drying flowers) from a craft store like Michaels or Joanns for best result!. This way the petals will not wrinkle!. Try to get the powder silica so they fill in the tiny creases in the rose!. You will also need a container!. Be careful to pour the silica gently and pay attention to the position of the petals so they do not get folded under!. The disadvantage of this method is the cost of the gel ($15 for 5 pounds of silica) and the limited number of roses you can dry each time (1 rose per 5 pound of silica)!. The advantage is the quick dry time, drying is much faster if you add heat!. Leave it in a warm place for 2-3 days or put it in the microwave set to very low for 30-60 minutes!. The silica is resuable, just bake it in the over at 200 degree till the crystals turn to its original color!.

You could also hang the roses upside down but as mentioned, the petals will prune up!. The good thing about this method is it doesn't cost you anything extra and there is no limit to how many you can dry!. The bad thing is it can take weeks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

otherwise if you want to have that obviously dried look you can just hang them upside down from the stem!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
