Question: When it comes to sports or shooting concerts, is film or digital better!?

As much as I love film, I would say that for action scenes like that, digital would probably be better!. BUT ONLY a high end digital camera like a DSLR, with completely manual settings so that you can change the ISO, shutter speed, and aperture for the lighting conditions!. That way you could also set it to "Aperture Priority" or "Shutter Speed Priority" mode so that you could change the shutter speed or aperture setting for the kind of picture you want (long depth of field, shallow depth of field, freeze motion, show motion blur, etc) and the camera will automatically compensate by changing one or the other to get the right exposure!.

(By the way, I should say that many film SLR's also have the same feature)!.

If you only have a digital point and shoot camera, then forget it!. Film would do a much better job!. Better yet, a 35mm film SLR would do a much better job than a digital point and shoot camera!.

Film has much sharper resolution and better color saturation, but digital is good when you need to take a lot of pictures with highly variable lighting conditions and a lot of action!. Digital is good for taking snapshots at a moment's notice, but film is better for taking very high quality pictures where you have more time to get the best composition and exposure!.
