The Pentax K1000 is an old, but robust and reliable film (35mm) SLR, which is more or less the ideal beginner's camera!. The K100D is a much more recent digital slr, which is perfectly ok for what it is, but is more expensive, less robust and is probably obsolescent by now!. That's the story with Digital!. You have confused the two by misreading (or mistyping) D for 0!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yeah, that last zero at the end of the other one is actually a D!. K100D is a digital camera!. The K1000 is a very popular film camera!. Extremely basic, but well-built and functional!. It would serve you well!. However, I would look for the K1000 SE!. There's hardly any difference, but that one has, in my opinion, a better focusing screen!. It has a split-image focusing ring in the viewfinder!. Which helps to focus more accurately!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your first image is the K1000

Your second image is the K100D (digital)

They are two different cameras!.

You will like your choice!. I have one (still) - I use it when I go hunting!.

Durable, crisp and easy to use!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

because the black one is just a camera called k100d and the silver one is called the pentax k1000 im pretty sure that why i could be wrong though hope i helpedWww@QuestionHome@Com

If you want to know which of the two will be around the longest, try the film SLR K1000Www@QuestionHome@Com

You want the first one!. The black and silver one!. That's a 35mm film SLR camera!.!.!.and yes, it's a really good one!. It has completely manual shutter speed and aperture settings, so you will learn a lot more about photography and you will be able to have a lot more control and creativity with your pictures!.

SLR stands for "Single Lens Reflex" which means that it uses a mirror to give you the same view that the lens sees!. It makes focusing a lot easier and you will be able to see exactly what the picture will look like when you look through the viewfinder!. When you fire the shutter, the viewfinder will go dark for a second, but that's normal!. The mirror flips out of the way for a split second before the shutter opens, so that the film can be exposed!.

That's a really good camera!. I would LOVE to have it!. I have a bunch of vintage 35mm cameras, but they just use a rangefinder!. I don't have any 35mm SLR's right now!.

If you really get into film photography (which you will, because it's a lot more fun and challenging than digital cameras) then you might want to try medium format after you've had some experience!. The amount of detail that you can get with 120 film will blow you away!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
