Question: How is the sb400 compared to the sb600!?
I'm thinking of buying the 400, but what can the 600 do that the 400 cant besides tilt sideways!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Tilting sideways makes a HUGE difference!. This will allow you to bounce off of walls or over your shoulder, creating a softer light on you subject when it bounces off the wall and back at them!. Tilting the flash head up is better than direct flash, however it can create shadows under eyes and nose and chin!.

The other thing to consider is greater power of the sb-600!. I personally prefer the 800 over the 600, even for the extra $$!. Check out this site for some tips!.

The question you should ask yourself really is, 'what will the 400 give me that I don't already have on the on-camera flash (unless you have an F5 or D3 et al)!.

SB-600 at a minimum if you want to take flash photography to the next level!. Otherwise, you will end up being one of those people who say "I don't like the look of flash, I prefer natural lighting!. Flash shots look bad"!. A flash used properly, will trounce MOST natural light shots for indoor use, and can really tame some harsh shodows outside aswell!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
