Question: Using masks with layers on GIMP!?
I've used photoshop a lot but I was having a look at gimp!. Seems like you can't save masks and if you add layers you lose masks!. Is there any point proceeding with this program!. It's cool that it's free but it just seems really really frustrating to use, especially on Mac, all the double clicking between windows is pissing me off as well!.

Any experienced users of GIMP want to offer their thoughts!? Should I persevere!? or just give up and go back to PS!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wether you persevere is up to you!.

From the tutorial below (see link) "Use Gimp's native format, which stores masks, to save your work"

I have persevered with Gimp!. Just to see if I could!. I have nothing against PS!.

Just use Photoshop, Gimp is nowhere near as good, but at that price difference (£500!.00 + compared to free) nor should it be!.
