First, make sure you create all the text boxes in their locations!.

The parentheses are an excellent way to communicate to the next user what should go into those text boxes!.

(header)
(footer)
(headline text)
(section headline text)
(body text)
(date)
(time)

The good thing about this parenthetical text is that when the next user clicks on it, the entire text box shows up, indicating all of the space allowed for this element!.

The problem might be the illustrations or other graphics if you don't have them, or know the dimensions!. If you design for a square graphic, and the next user inserts a rectangular one, it may throw off the flow of the design!. It would be nice if you had the graphics to insert, even low resolution versions!. (They would be replaced at the later stage) But I'd make sure to label the low res ones as such, to remind the next user that they DO have to be replaced!.

Make sure to save it as an !.ai file if you know the next user will be filling in the template in Illlustrator!. Maximize compatibility!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's hard to say, you can leave a detailed note in an e-mail (if you're e-mailing) or create a text file to include on the disc (if it's going on a disc)
Sometimes I put instructions outside the margins of the page, but more often than not it goes unread!.

Make sure you include a copy of the fonts your using!. Outlining them probably isn't a good idea in this case since someone will need to edit the text!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
