Depends on what kind of camera you have, i suppose!. But if you just have a regular point and shoot camera, maybe set it somewhere and make it set for 10 seconds so you don't have to hold the camera while it takes the picture!. Go outside or something where you can find a nice background, and don't center yourself directly into the picture!. Make it artistic by maybe holding something in the picture or doing something!. DON'T hold the camera out with your hand and aim it back at you!.

DON'T take a photo of yourself in a mirror!.

DON'T use the wide angle portion of the lens!.

DON'T make fish lips or a peace sign or any other goofy My Space crap!.

DO use the self timer!. Mount the camera on a tripod and zoom the lens out to a longer focal length to avoid the wide angle distorted face look!.

DO take the photo outside on a sunny day IN THE SHADE!.

DO turn the flash ON!.!.!.!. not to auto!. You WANT the flash to fire to give some fill light under the shade!.

DO prefocus the camera on an object that is where you will be!. Most cameras will require focus confirmation before they will activate the shutter!. This will also let you work to get composition correct!.

DO be prepared to have to take several shots before you get it right!.

well of course you'll need some type of camera,
be comfortable with what your doing first of all
an then do a pose like a peace sign, rock and roll sign, etc!.

use a web cam and pose!. but if that's not appealing go to a pond or something and take a picture of your reflection!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
