Question: What is the best video editing program out there!? !?

I am going to be starting one of my projects which is a short film
I am going to be directing and producing it
I need to know, what is the best video editing program out there!?
Something that will help to delete a part, add music to it
I just need a few names of programs to try out and work with

I work on video editing, and freelance at television company also!.
Usually, when I need to capture from device, I used Adobe Premiere Pro CS3, and making film effects on Adobe After Effect Pro CS3, for audio editing, I used both Adobe Audition or Sony SoundForge, because they have different feature (thats what I think)!.!.!. and the final section for editing, I used Adobe Premiere Pro CS3Www@QuestionHome@Com

For Mac - Final Cut Pro (every good program)!.
For PC - Avid Xpress Pro, Adobe Premiere, Pinnacle Studio, Edius Pro
For Linux - Ubuntu Stuido, Cinelerra, Blender and more!.!.!.
