She is famous because of both her smile and her eyes!. Her eyes seem to follow you everywhere, dosn't matter from which direction you are looking at her from!. Her smile is very unnuseal!. Some people say that she changes mood depending on in which mood you are in!. Meaning her smile changes slightly!. This is mainly on the way Leonardo da Vinci drew her!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's not known to be mystic!. It's just a painting of a woman who has an enigmatic smile on her face!. Because the artist is one of the most famous painters in history, it's been seen and commented on quite a bit and people like to wonder what she's smiling about!. That's all!. It's really not worth thinking about too much!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I really don't know!. Even after seeing the real painting I can't understand why it's so adored!.

It's a horrible experience looking at it; they only let little kids really see it, it's behind very thick glass (as is to be expected, I guess), you're packed in very tight crowds, scrambling against other tourists to get the slightest glimpse!. I really doubt that's how "Leo" would've wanted it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

as far as i can tell from art (now i mightn't have been listening too good when she was explaining) but it's basically just famous because there's so little information about it and because of the use of sfumato around her eyes and mouth which makes her expression hard to interpret!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i think maybe since the da vinci code became a bestseller several years ago, this has added to the mystique of la gioconda!.
