Question: [Career in] film, or psychology!?
I'm down to those two choices, for now at least!. For a while I've wanted to go into psychology, because I just love to help, and I understand a lot of people's problems, even though I barely know the "official" reasons and everything!. In other words, I kind of just relate to what's on people's minds, and understand personally how they feel and what to do about it (what to tell yourself)!. So it's a bit more of a philosophy than anything, but still!. I love the idea of being able to help people, especially kids, who come in for anything at all!.

Recently, however, I started to get into film!. I'm in a sort of film class in my school, and started using my older brother's programs that he left behind when he enlisted to the army recently, when I fell upon Adobe After Effects 6!.5!. An older version, and I haven't the slightest idea how to use it, which sucks since all of the tutorials available today are for the newer versions which cost around $1,000 dollars, which is WAY beyong my budget!. Than there are other things to help me improve, which also cost a considerably high amount of money!. So the main problem is that if I decide to enter a career in film now, than money probably shouldn't be anything to stop me!. But I wouldn't have wanted to waste all that money for a few school projects this year if I'm never going to use it again!. In that case, I would want to pursue a career in psychology!.

Anyhow, I would appreciate any comments from you guys to maybe help me make a decision, so that I can see more deeply into both choices, since, like I said, I hardly know anything about either field!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hey, I have 2 friends who have graduated in each of these disciplines!. The Psychology graduate had to go back to do a masters course (another 1/2 years of university) because the market is too competitive and the one with the degree in film is now working for the BBC without pay to get some experience!. Both career paths require alot of dedication but I would say the safer option is Psychology and the more exciting prospect is film!. Both disciplines will never die BUT you may want to consider the fact that film is becoming far more technologically based so you may at one point in later life need to retrain in technology!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
