I think it's a combination of the monitor's light and not exercising my eyes' auto-focus while I'm on the computer!. Away from the computer we are constantly looking near, then far, exercising the auto-focus as we do so!. On the computer, the entire world is one, constant distance!.

My own prevention is to play with the light around my computer and while I am working, I make it a point to look around every couple of minutes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
