The aperture setting (also called an F stop) does control the amount of light passing through the lens!. Apertures can be big holes(like F2!.8) - which let in a lot of light but give you a shallow depth of field (ie, the subject is in focus but not much else) or the can be small openings (like F16) letting in a little light but putting the subject and things in front//behind the subject in focus, too!.

The shutter is like a door opening!. If you only leave it open for a short period of time, only a little light gets in!. If you leave it open a long time, a lot of light will come through!. An example fast shutter is 1/500 of a second!. An example of a slow shutter speed is 1/15 of a second!.

Blur occurs when there is movement while the shutter is open!. So if a person is walking and their leg actually moves between the shutter starts to open and the shutter closes, you will see blur!. If you have a fast shutter speed, the person can't walk fast enough to blur the picture!.

There is no right answer for the first one!. I mean, the aperture (is not the same as the DOF)--is a hole that lets the light go through the lens--so basically, the bigger the hole, more light goes through!.

Second one is almost logical to think!. Slow shutter!.!. results in a blurry photo and fast one!.!. results in a 'frozen' one, and so on!.

I realize that you may have lost your notes--but unfortunately my question for you is did you understand anything at all when you took these notes!? I mean, if you blindly wrote these down (like a tape recorder which recorded every word that was said)--did any of it make any sense at all!?

Go over these!.
