Question: Edward Scissor Hands Themes-Taking pictures!?
If you were to choose a theme from Edwards Scissorhands (ex!. creation, love, beauty,) and you had to take 10 pictures in reality that portrayed the theme, what theme would you choose, what kind of pictures would you take (of what would you take a picture), and what would be your theme statement that all the pictures portray!. Any help!? I chose creation but I can't decide what I want to say about creation (theme statement i!.e!. all creations are unique etc!.) and what to take pictures of!. Any help would be really nice!. I think Creation is a good theme because of the fact that Edward is created, Edward creates the topiaries and the ice sculptures, etc - but I think that theme is also limiting!.
What about the theme of "Spectacle" !? What this means is, the different things people surround themselves with in order to break the boredom of every day life!. If you remember in the movie, the town they lived in was extremely boring! Everyday the husbands went to work (at the same time) and the wives stayed at home!. But when Peg brings down Edward, everything changes!. They all have something to distract themselves with!. But like all spectacles, the magic eventually dies down and you need to fill yourself with something else!.
My theme statement would be something like, Everyday life can often times be boring and filled with a sense of ennui, but various spectacles serve as an escape from this boredom!.
Then I would take pictures of things people fill their time with!. They can be frivolous things or meaningful ones, but I'd probably focus on frivolous things!. Maybe really flashy billboards (I'm thinking Times Square or Las Vegas), Celebrities or Tabloid Headlines, even people dressed ridiculously tacky, concerts, sporting events, you can really go anywhere!.
