Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: You'll need to have your model(s) sign a model release form if you stand to gain any monetary value from the image's sale!. http://forum!.deviantart!.com/galleries/ph!.!.!. There are several different model releases there, and you can choose one to customise, or just use as-is!. You don't need one if the photo doesn't contain any personally identifiable information!. Such as if you take a picture of someone from behind!. You can't identify them, so there's no use in making them sign!. Or if you take a picture of a crowded street!. Obviously you can't be expected to have everyone sign a form!. Though if you take a picture of a crowded street with one person obviously being the main focus, you may require a form for them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Depends if the photo is going to used as commercial or editorial!. You can't sell commercial without model release signed!. Editorial pretty much doesn't need permission!. Check with a lawyer!. Each jurisdiction is different!.Www@QuestionHome@Com probably written permission by the person in the picture!. also, you would have to get a contract to state how long you can sell it for!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Absolutely check with your lawyer first, but usually a model release is fine!.Www@QuestionHome@Com |
