Of the two sites you listed, Heidi Jones' looks more professional!. However, it clearly states on the first page that she specializes in maternity and infant photography!. On the site, it says that she works with her husband and associate photographers!. You need to find out who exactly would be shooting your wedding if you contract with her!.

Some other questions you need to ask of a potential company:

- Will you see a sample album shot by the photographer who will be shooting your event!?

- How much experience/training does the photographer have!? How many weddings have they shot!? (Specifically, not "quite a few!.")

- Is the photographer a member of any professional organizations!? (I always recommend looking at PPA member photographers -Professional Photographers of America - because they are covered by what is basically malpractice insurance through their membership, and also have a network to replace your photographer should they become ill or unable to fulfill the contract!. See here to find a PPA photographer in your area: http://www!.ppa!.com/findaphotographer/ )

- Does the photographer have a backup for every piece of equipment on site at the wedding!?

- Does the photographer have equipment insurance!?

- Does the photographer carry liability insurance!?

- Does the photographer have a policy regarding a replacement photographer in the event of an accident or illness!?

- Will your photographer see the locations of your event in the lighting that will be present prior to the day of the wedding!?

- Will you have the opportunity to spend any time with your photographer prior to the wedding!?

You also should check the Better Business Bureau to see if there are any complaints registered, and ask to see a tax permit, which should be displayed in their place of business, even a home business!.

Ask in advance and be very clear about what services you will be receiving!.

Beyond that, it all comes down to whether or not you like the style of the images the photographer creates!. This is why it is so important to see a good representative sample of work from the ACTUAL photographer who will be shooting!. Make sure they are named on the contract!.

It's a once-in-a-lifetime day for you, and your photos are one of the only things you get to keep!. Make sure you do your homework, so that you are satisfied with the results!.

Good luck!

Neither one is any "better" than the other, they are just different styles!. The first is obviously into the whole modern bit of trying to make photos that are not always really representative of the real wedding!. Photos like people all jumping in the air together!. I never had the gaul to try to get people to do this kind of thing when I was doing weddings!. Just the aggravating website and corny music tend to bug me about that service!.

The second, American Wedding Portraits, is obviously much more conventional in their photography!. More the standard poses and probably some candid shots too, but they are not trying to make people do goofy things that are not really part of the wedding just for the sake of getting the photo!.

So no one here can tell you which to choose!. If you plan on having a very upbeat wedding day and don't mind doing some odd stuff just for the sake of the photos, then go with the first photographer!.

If your wedding is going to be more subdued and you really just want nice photos of the day as it actually happens, i would say go with the second photographer!.

If you go with either one, who will be your photographer!? With Heidijones, do you get her!? With Americasweddingportraits who do you get!? The luck of the draw!?

I once worked for a wedding studio and on their busy days the smallest package purchased was the loser!. I remember them saying, "We just need a warm body to shoot this one!." I would rather know exactly who was shooting my wedding and have seen THAT person's work, not an over all representation of several photographers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hedi Jones Photography, hands down!. She is just way better!. America's just looked really amateur to me!. Hedi Jones looks great though!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Just going by the images presented on the websites I would choose Heidi Jones!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Heidi Jones, definately!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
