Film depends upon the lighting you are using!. Usually standard film stock is fine whether shooting outdoors using natural lighting or in a studio using incandescent light !.!.!. it is the same stock but using an 85b filter outside!.

It is only when you decide to shoot at night or indoors with available light will you need to talk to your supplier to get what you need!.

On the camera side !.!.!. No one owns their own 16 mm Arri!. They are all rented!. The same goes for video to film shoots!.

Shoot on video, at least initially!. It's so much cheaper and easier (to shoot, to edit, etc!.), and an increasing number of festivals are allowing submissions on digital media!. If you do well enough with video, you might be able to get funding to make movies on film!.

You can get a pretty decent video camera, like an Canon XL2, for around $2500-3000!. A good shotgun mic might be $500-1000!.

Be sure to budget for lights as well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
