What artist is it that paints rectangles?

Question: What artist is it that paints rectangles!?

I want to know the name of an artist who painted pictures of squares or rectangle usually it was just three color's on the canvas!. This artist would divide the canvas into three sections and paint the top middle and bottom three different colors!. I do know that the artist is now deceased but I can not remember the name of the painter!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
