I think it is a mostly useful upgrade from the 5D, which is an excellent camera to begin with!. It will make a good 2nd body to the 1Ds MkIII and it is lighter and more compact than the 1D, so it should be more a attractive camera on long location shoots where the camera weight gets noticeable toward the end of the day!.

However, I am waiting for some feedback from working photographers who are early adopters!. If other people who shoot the type of photography that I mostly do report good things, I'll get one!.

Maybe excited isn't quite the right word!. On a cost/benefit basis, it sounds extremely attractive!.

i am!. i read about it and it sounds really cool!.!.!.21++ MP full frame, ISO 25,800, 720p movie capture, vga lcd with live view, etc etc!. sounds like canon's finally got a camera that would give nikon's d90 and d700 a run for its money!.

as cool as the 5d mark ii is though, it's still pretty expensive, and is definitely out of my budget range!. that said, i'm much more excited about the 50d!. not only is it more affordable, i also find it more usable (me being just an amateur hobbyist)!. maybe after two years of saving, i'd be able to get my hands on the 50d!. as for the 5d, well, it's just too high up there for me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I can't wait to get my hands on one of those puppies!. I think the High Def video function will be interesting to play with!. Have you seen the promo video for it!? (It looks a lot better in high def!.)
