Yep! Even worse, I've thrown in a 256MB card!. Now that sure limits your options! Makes you much more careful and precise and lets you think about things!. Plus think about how many shots you delete or are worthless when you have more gigs-you get sloppy!.

Although conversely, sometimes over thinking the shot too much makes it worse and the best ones are sometimes spontaneous!. That's the joy of photography I s'pose!Www@QuestionHome@Com

A better way is just to use a tripod, that slows you down and gives you the time to think about the shot more!. Your shots may still be rubbish, but at least they'll be tack sharp rubbish! LOL!.

This type of 'hair shirt' purity is just applying the cost restrictions of film on to digital, without the films latitude that is not available with digital!. It may take a couple of digital shots to get the exposure spot on, at least at first till you have the experience to know how you're camera is going to react to those conditions, with film as long as your in the ball park you'll get a usable image!. With a digital sensor that has a linear response to light and limited tonal range, exposure has to be within a 1/10th of a stop to get all the information in both the dark and the light areas!.

Film photographers making the transition to digital have to realize that shooting digitally needs a different mind set, the techniques are not quite the same, fortunately with digital you can instantly see what you get and take again if required, or if the tonal range is wide bracket shots and merge in Photoshop or similar, with film the exposure latitude will normally do it in one shot!.

95 pics: that's less than 3 rolls of 36exposure 135!. H'mm!. When I do something like that, what happens is that the perfect shot comes up just after I've finished my last roll!. What you should do, of course, is pretend to yourself that you only have 3 rolls, or 2 gigs, or whatever, but kind of half-forget the backup emergency roll/card in the bottom of your bag!. If you want to do the whole hairshirt, think-before-you shoot routine, it's time to dig out the tent, donkey, glass plates and wet collodion gubbins and hire a couple of native bearers!. That'll stop you firing 20 shots off in the heat of the moment!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

no never, i learnt on film so i have the disapline already,

if i need 4 exposures i might load a 120 into the RB and limite myself to 8-10 shots

product shoting i find 1-2 shots per product does the job, I'm more of a spend 20 minutes on lighting guy then get a shot or two, instead of dont worry about the light and take 95 shots and find a decent one,

moderation or shot planning!?

While I usually keep a 4GB SDHC card in the camera, being 'brought up' in the days of film and expensive processing, I 'pretend' every shot is costing me $5 and try to make the most of every one!. It helps!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well doing that how likely am I to capture the scissors kick goal shot at the soccer game -- or the one of the hawk (big) swooping down to grab the woodchuck and the ensuing battle!. (sorry hawk no dinner today) !?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
