Some film camera's have a winder on the left side of the camera, this is locked to the film roll!. When you advance the film the winder will turn as you move the film lever!. If it doesn't turn then the film is most likely not advancing!. I don't suggest using the frame counter as it can advance weather there is film in it or not!.

Like one other said, you might be able to open the camera in a totally pitch black room or a changing bag-- but unless you have experience, it's not recommended!.

There is generally two ways that film is stored in your camera, one way is that the film comes out of the canister, you take the shot then the film is would onto a reel!. The other is when you load the camera the film is fully wound on the reel and when you take the picture it is wound back into the canister!.

If you open the camera with film wound onto the reel then everything you have taken will be ruined assuming your opening the camera in daylight!. If it's the other way though the images are wound back into the canister and you should be able to recover those!. If you open in total darkness you should be able to recover all images either method!.

Remember that until film is developed it is incredibly sensitive to any lightWww@QuestionHome@Com

If you open the camera it will ruin the film!. If the film counter advances when you wind the film it should be all right!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
