Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
What I believe all great landscape photographs should have is good composition!. A well thought out foreground, middle ground, and background will set the "Ansel Adams" images apart from the everyday snapshot!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The simplest answer is your camera :)!. If you approach any landscape with the right tools then you will come out with a quality picture!.

Arm yourself with knowledge on things like exposure times and film type!.

If your asking about the type of landscape then it comes down to the individuals choice, personally I like man made landscape shots, the detail and purpose behind everything motivates me to examine the picture for longer!.

Pay attention to color, light and shadow!. Where is the light!? A midday sun, or a sun directly behind you can produce uninteresting images!.

You want provide a sense of depth, perspective and scale, otherwise it may be no more inspiring than a painted stage flat!.

There are various techniques for depth, scale and perspective:
Objects in the foreground - like over hanging branches framing part of the shot!. Sight lines - a road, fence, tree line leading away from the viewer to deep into the scene!. Scale can be achieved with people or familiar object in the image!. But be careful there!. These things can't be there for just that purpose - they have to belong

The feeling of it being vast or a place most people never seen(I saw a swamp that had sulfuric acid in it that gave it a neon green look and I've never seen that before in nature so that was definitely a great picture)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Contrast, detail, lighting and a high level of curiosity or delight!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
