Question: What happens if you over bake polymer clay!?
I know it will get darker but will anything else happen to it!? will it get weak or break or something or what would happen if i overbake it!?

I'm asking because the piece i jsut sculpted is about 1 3/4" thick so i think thats about an hour and 45 minutes that it needs to be baked right!? well its got a lot of angles and im not sure which one to use as its thickness because it varies in each angle, so i was jsut ganna bake it for an hr and 45 minutes, rewinding my timer because i'm using the clay oven!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi, you really can't 'over bake' polymer clay as long as your oven temperature is accurate!. 275F!. You can even add pieces on and 're-bake'' the whole thing!.

You can cut down on the baking time by sculpting over an armature such as rolled up tin foil or wire!. It's better to over bake than under bake which would leave the clay uncured and weak!.
