It's all about working in layers, the first layer has to be transparent (an option when you are making a new file)!. then you add other things as a subsequent layer!. If you erase any area on the second layer the transparent layer shows through as grey and white checks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The grey and white check ground is an indication of having transparency in the image!. There are few certain things about this feature!. 1st and formost is you MUST work in layers (double click on on layer named 'background' and click OK)!. The area appears as TRAnsparent is one where you either have removed/deleted/rubbed the image from or may occure as a result of change in canvas size!.

You can do one thing open your subject image select the area your choice/shape/part/any thing!. Copy it to clipboard (press Ctrl+C)!. Open a NEW DOCUMENT keeping backaground as TRANSPARENT and paste the clipboard (Press Ctrl+V)!.

I hope this will work for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
