Question: What's the average day of a graphic designer like!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
A lot of sitting, usually in a dark room, and a lot of wrist movement!. It is not a job for someone who can't sit still or needs to be outdoors!. I say this because I managed an office of designers!. Most were layout people and they had to do editing and spell check as well as design!. They were not illustrators!. This was in the days of Pagemaker and Photoshop!.

There is the usual meeting with clients who will change their minds and undesign what you have spent days or weeks working up!.

Photo cropping and enhancement is also a big part of publication design!.

If you like to take photos, this is another way to get out of the office!.

In a company you will be under pressure to meet short deadlines and may work late or on weekends at the whim of a client!.

also you will often have a great idea artistically that a client will not understand!. That will probably go in your portfolio!.

All in all, it can be demanding but rewarding!. And never dull!. The more you know about computers and like them, the better you will do!.

There are lots of specialty jobs and you may become a specialist in an area that you like and do well!. Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
