Your camera take the image in one size and the 4x6 is a different proportion to your camera resulting in cropping!. If you need the top half but not the bottom you'll have to crop the image in some editing software!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sadie is right !.!.!. while most DSLR cameras have the same image ratio as 35 mm film (3:2) and print exact 4x6 images, most native ratios on P&S cameras use a 4:3 image ratio!. To print a 4x6 print, you will have to crop your original image to a 3:2 ratio and adjust it to include the parts of the image you want to print!.

Remember to save the new file as a new name so you do not overwrite your original image!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Some image editing software allow you to select the ratio before you do the crop!. Then while you crop the selection stays in that shape!. It's a neat feature!.!. I know photoshop and picassa let you do this!.!. I'm sure there are other ones that also have this feature!. Just select the ratio 4 by 6 (or 6 by 4) and crop away!. I sometimes do this to my photos even if I'm not printing them!.!. it makes them look like they were taken with a posher camera!

The other option is to do a 'print with preview' and then choose 'fit to paper size' or some option like this!. I know photoshop has a feature like this!. I don't know what software you're using but it's something you can look into!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

When printing, go into printer settings and tell it to scale the image just enough so that it all fits on the 4x6 piece of paper!. You'll have a white border in some places, but you won't have a cropped image and you can cut the border off with a guillotine if you want!. The method of scaling depends on what program you're using to print!. Some don't let you alter enough settings!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

check your printer settings for alignment and paper size, use print preview before print, make sure paper is in correctly, before doing good print , do test print on paper, draw outline of size in one corner,

different printers have different options,
