Something you WILL need to know about doing something like this: This is a long exposure on a subject that has low reflected light!. You need to get up early, stay up late or have a cloudy day with good tree cover!. most streams have higher reflections and such exposures would make it look very angelic but misty instead!.

I'm thinking this is no less than a two second exposure utilizing perhaps a polarizer to knock the exposure and reflectance down significantly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Pictures like that are taken simply by adjusting the shutter speed!. The longer the shutter speed, the more smooth and smokey the water looks!. Most cameras have this capability, including the Canon Rebel!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

'I know that you have to slow down the shutter speed, and using a tripod helps'!. Those ARE the specific things you need to do!. Refer to your camera manual for information on how to do them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You may also need to use a neutral density filter to slow the shutter speed even more, particularly if the light is fairly bright!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

slower shutter speed, smaller fstop {meaning the number is bigger}Www@QuestionHome@Com
