I try to sketch out the images first because!.!.!. well!.!.!. if I didn't, what would I be making a panel of!?

For me at least, the composition of the image is the most important thing!. I ROUGHLY sketch out what I think is the image panel that is going to be the focus of the page then i do a QUICK panel border around it!. After that i sketch out the other supporting images and do rough panels around them so that i can evaluate the composition of the page as a whole!. I flesh out the images a bit more then adjust the panel borders until I'm happy with the result!.

I do the panels last for 2 reasons - 1) Like with any real image I've ever owned I feel like the border or frame needs to support the image; not the other way around!. 2) I usually get a better effect by drawing in more then "cropping" or framing it later!.!. sorta like taking a snapshot then trimming it down!. It makes it look like there's more beyond the borders!. Sometimes when you draw within the borders you lose that effect because you're trying to make the image match the size of the frame!.

Anyways!.!.!. that's my 2 cents!. I hope it helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can draw the image first, then resize it to the panel if its digital!. Personally I just draw whatever on paper and make the panel around it whatever size it turns out!. Its really trial and error for what you get used toWww@QuestionHome@Com

I always draw the panels first, I find it makes it SO much easier to gage where I should place what I'm drawing inside the panel!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
