Question: I'd like to know more about this Marion Griffin(!?) painting !?
This painting has been hanging in my kitchen since I moved into the apartment, and I never thought anything about it!. I finally decided to try to look it up, and now I can't find anything!

It's of an African American quintet, there's a sign on the wall that reads "Cornbread junior's blues and jazz quintet" and the signature on the lower left hand sign looks like it says either Marion Guffin or Marion Griffin, but I can't find any information about it!

I attached a link to the photo -- sorry about the glare on the glass!.

Marion Griffin was actually a fairly well known and respected artist back in the 1900s!. She died in 1961!.

But I'm pretty sure what you have is either a watercolor or a print!. Paintings are rarely encased in glass!. And prints usually aren't worth too much to a collector unless they are signed, limited edition prints

Here is a link to her bio:

And here is a website operated by her estate:

You'll find copies of this same print for sale there!. The actual name of your artwork is THE REHEARSAL!.
