Question: Do artists always sign their paintings by painting their signature or do they sometimes sign in ink!?
I'm just curious!. I assume they use a fine, tiny paintbrush for their signature and somehow always make it look the same, but maybe they use a quality ink pen, perhaps with a nib!. I just would like to know!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Artists use the medium they painted with!. If it's an oil painting use oil paint!. If it's water color, use a water based medium (the watercolor paint or ink -- even pencil), and so on!.
Except for oil paints you probably don't have to be too concerned!. Don't put ink on oil paints!. To sign with oils use a small brush tapered to a point and thin the paint to a fluid consistency so it's easy to work with!.
Or, go to an art supply store and get an oil paint marker!. These things come in several colors to compliment the image and they are filled with and write with regular oil paint!. But, they handle like a marker pen!. Very easy!.
By the way, never use a regular marker pen on anything!. They can contain alcohol and can do some damage!. Surgeons use "Sharpies" to make lines on skin to line up incisions!. The alcohol kills germs as they make their lines!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

All methods are acceptable!. What some artists do is use the sharp tip of a brush handle to write in wet paint or oil paint!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
