Question: How do I figure out if a painting is the real one or just a print!?
I think it may be the orignal as the paint has chipped off a little bit in some areas!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A print will be smooth, lacking texture & a simple copy & usually have the name of the artist underneath!. Usually prints are sold in lots by companies or in limited numbers by art galleries depending on the artist!.

Really a painting may lose chips or sections if it's old or has been moved, cropped or damaged somehow!. However, it can be a painted copy, made with something like air brush strokes to mimic the design or if it's made as a print on canvas then it's a copied picture like you'd make for a sheet design like the companies that make rugs or pictures of family members!.

If you like the painting then just enjoy it as it is and never look back!.

i wouldn't go by that considering a lot of times people duplicate paintings by actually painting them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
