I'm a professional photographer who has had plenty of shoots with models and/or wannabe models!. The ones who are easy to work with are comfortable in their own skin, and have a good idea about how to look their best!. Practice posing in front of a mirror so that you can see what is flattering to you!.
also, good models tend to be able to hold a pose when needed, but otherwise try making minor adjustments, tilting the head this way or that, smiling more or less, tipping the chin to a different angle, and other variations on a pose so that the photographer can see what they like and tell you when to stop!.
Probably most importantly, don't act frustrated when you are given instruction or direction - just try to mimic the movements you are shown, and try to follow directions as best you can!. The worst models I've worked with are the ones who get exasperated when they are given instruction!.

Get in front of a mirror for some practice before you go, and then just be yourself, relax and have fun!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

First and foremost, be yourself!. Don't be intimidated and have fun with the shoot!. The more relaxed you are, the better it will be!.

The hands!.!.!. they are the number one problem of most models, what to do with them so, be flamboyant and think of them always!.!.!. how they will best portray the mood of the shot!. Rest your chin on them!.!.!. fold them if the mood calls for power or stubborn opposition!. Look at your wardrobe and become the person in it!.

It's not difficult if you can visualize!.

Listen to your photographer!. He or she may be able to ease your tensions if any good at the job they do!. Don't expect too much from your first shoot because you will walk out anyway, having expected more from yourself!. Enjoy the experience and your photographer will see you as someone who has confidence!.

Look at some magazines!.!.!. they may even have some there!.!.!. look at the poses and emulate them!.

aww that sounds like a lot of fun!
you always want to show your face and depending on what you're posing for!.!.!. it's always different!.
but just brighten that one thing you're posing for!.
if it's a fashion shoot don't hide the clothes or shoes with your arms or hands!.
try to make it as natural looking as possible!.
