Editing photographs? photoshop?

Question: Editing photographs!? photoshop!?

im looking to buy a photoshop program to edit some pictures!.
but i dont know which one to use!.

i would like my pictures to look like this!.

Photoshop Elements should be able to do some of the effects shown in your samples!. If you can afford the full Photoshop CS3 (or CS4 which just came out), you can do most if not all of those effects!. If there is some special filter or effect needed in the future, you can also purchase add-ons for Photoshop CS3 (not sure if Photoshop Elements can take add-ons!.) If you are a student, take advantage of student-discounts for the program!.
If you are not sure, you can start with Photoshop Elements, then upgrade up to the regular version!.!.!.but doublecheck if this upgrade path is available!.

Please note that most of the effects in your sample are not achieved instantly by using the program!.!.!.a fair amount of knowledge is needed to do this type of stuff!. You will need to clear the basics of Photoshop editing as a starting point (the equivalent of finishing a beginning Photoshop class!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

(retails under $100) One of the beauties of Photoshop is that it provides multiple ways in which to acheive various effects!. The end results can be, either, exactly the same, or, with slight variations!.

One key to making these effects rather easy is the layers function, but, back before layers were available, digital artists found ways in which to make amazing effects!.

Another set of tools that make such things possible with many apps, including some that are NOT Adobe products are the freeform select tool (lasso) and the magic wand tool!.
