Dr!. Sam is right!.

Here is the deal !.!.!. Nikon and Canon do NOT make crap lenses!. Yes, some are better than others, but they all high quality lenses!.

There are some issues when it comes to using lenses that are not full frame!.

Canon:

EF lenses are designed to be used with either APS-C or full frame cameras!.
EF-S lenses are designed to be used ONLY with Canon APS-C sensored cameras!.

Nikon:

All lenses made buy Nikon since 1959, but for a few old fisheyes, can be used on all 35 mm SLR's and DSLR's except for the entry level DSLR's (D40(x) and D60 cameras which can use all the AF-S and AF-I lenses ever made)!. Unlike Canon, Nikon full frame cameras CAN use lenses designed for APS-C sensors (called DX lenses) and automatically crops for them AND when using DX lenses, can shoot up to 11 FPS on continuous shooting mode!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Many are not full frame lenses!. Nikon's DX series and Canon's EF-S series are meant for cropped sensors only!.

Thanks for the detail, Ace!.

Please choose Fhotoace as the best answer - so far!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
