Question: Why is it important to consider elements of art, besides aesthetic value, when judging or criticizing art!?
This is for my online art class!.!.I'm just really not sure how to answer!. Any ideas!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can look at each of the elements of a piece of art - tone, line, shape, colour, form, etc!. - but it's probably best if you work through it in an organised way!. Try to describe the work, then analyse it (how it's been put together) then attempt to interpret it before you make your final judgement!. This process should work for any type of art!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In evaluating art I generally find the "four Cs" most helpful:

Creativity
Concept
Craftsmanship
Communication

All really don't have to do much with aesthetics!. I am not sure what your "elements of art" refer to out of context!. It may have been clearer within the context of your class, if not ask your teacher to clarify!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
