Question: Calling Graphic Artist!.!.!.!. !?
I am working with Photoshop and InDesign for a project I am working on!. I am putting together a 2-color placemat with ads on them!.

Problem:
I have an ad with a logo that has to be red!. And it also HAS TO HAVE a transparent background because it will be laying on top of another image!. So I make it transparent in PS and make sure its in grayscale and 8bit!. (16bit gives me a white background behind the image) I also usually just save it as a !.psd!.
I bring it into InDesign, and use the direct selection tool to select it so that I can change the color to the pantone red that I already have set up in my swatches!. But when I select the image all my color swatches fade out so that I cannot use them!.
If I were to bring the image into ID with it being 16bit then I can change it fine, but as stated it comes with a white background!.
Why is this!? And what can I do to make it so that I can change the color of images with a transparent background that are placed into ID from PS!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm no pro in photoshop or Indesign but I believe Indesign is a "vector" based program and I know photoshop is a "pixel" based program!. The difference!? you may ask!. A pixel based picture or whatever it ma be is made up off individual pixels of color and has 1 resolution!. A vector picture are not made up of pixels of color!. Each object made as a vector is a program based object that kind of has an unlimited resolution!. It is a data picture kind of!. So You're going to have to kind a way of converting the transparent background!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
