Question: How do you take pics like these!?!? [pics inside]!?
i really want to know how to take pics of me that looks like a photographer took them
it seems like everyone knows how to do it except me
it looks really easy but for me its really hard and i really need help

pic 1: photo was taken in B+W, or was changed to B+W in photoshop, as for the pink, it was edited in with photoshop!. select the certain part of photo that you want, and play with hue or saturation!. or a way i do it is:
make a new layer
click the new layer and select the part of the pic you want to use
take a brush, chose the color you want from the swatches
set the brush intensity to a low tone, but bright enough to see the color
go to blur
click gaussian (i think i spelled that wrong) blur
set it to!.!.!.90!? i would think 90!. it should recolor the place you want to color!. but sure to unselect the selection before blurring!.
pic 2: hey, thats my friend Brook xD she just uses a canon powershot camera, like i do!. no editing!.
pic 4: adjust the lighting setting on your camera, or play around with!.!.!. sh*t whats it called!.!.!.i forgot, just click ctrl-m and this mountain like thingies will come up!. i am being so retarded right now xD

!.!.!.wait a second, are you asking how to make pics look like these or how to take these pictures!? oh well, i shall answer both XP
to take pics like these you just need to set your camera down on something (tripod is the BEST option), and either manually click to shoot the picture, or set it on a timer!. then just pose!. or have a friend and/or family member take the pictures of you!. be creative, try to tell a story from your photos!. stage a scene, put on makeup, etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
I can understand your wanting to take better pictures but you should aim higher than the pictures you posted!. The pictures were edited in Photoshop or some other image editor to achieve the "effects" for lack of a better word!. It actually is really easy to make the pictures look like that because they are just dull images that have been over done in post processing!. I'm sure you're already better than the photographers who tooke those images!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
those don't really look pro!. it looks like some kid just likes to play with photoshop!.
But if you really want to give it a shot, it wouldn't hurt to have a tripod either!. that way you can get pictures of more than just your face and the top of your arm reaching out toward the camera :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
I agree these all have been photo shopped to death and probably killed them!. They are not good at all!. Photo shop can make a good photo better, but cannot make a bad photo into a good one!. Learn how to use the camera, all the controls on your camera, set it M mode and experiment!. How on earth did photographers get fantastic photos before photoshop!? Ohhh yeah, camera, eyes, brain!. its not much about how you take it
its about the editing
most of those people sit on
photoshop editing those pictures for hours
just get adobe photoshop and you can do it =D

I looked at all the samples you shared!. The interesting thing about most of them was that they were taken with a simple camera phone (two of the five anyway)!.
The trick I think you are trying to get is this: You want that awesome color with a Black and White effect that is high contrast!.
Take a picture, save it to your desktop then import it to your Photo elements!. Now I'm not sure how Photo Elements works (I use Photoshop) but I do know this is what you want to do effectively!.
Duplicate the image twice!. Change one into a Black and White by removing all the color (channels/saturation) then raise the contrast until you effectively eliminate most of the gray or reach a point where you like the effect!. On the color one, raise the saturation until you feel you have ripping color!.
Put the color one on top of the Black and white one then erase what you don't want!.!.!. flatten the image and there you go!.
