The problem with school photography is the schools want the profit from it, but they don't want to give photographers the time required to do a proper job!. They want them in and out with the least disruption to their school schedule!. This results in lines of kids misbehaving while being forced through like a bunch of cattle!. If parents stop purchasing this garbage schools will soon allot the studios the time to do the job properly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is probably because you are uncomfortable in front of a camera and come off looking very uneasy and un-natural!. It is very common and it is really the job of a good photographer to try to put you at ease and get the best shots he / she can from you!. Unfortunately, many "school shooters" approach it like a production line and don't really care that much about the kids!. They are being paid to get photos regardless, and they don't really have the time or desire to try to make you look your best!.

Try to talk your parents into having some photos done of you at a private setting in a real studio where a good photographer will work with you and the lighting to get some shots that are most definitely not crap!

Many parents are abandoning the contracted school photographers ( lifetouchstudios)!. I have not purchased school photos for the last 3 years!. Many photographers (think yellow pages) will do much more innovative photos- in the studio or on location!. Especially for senior pics!. Many times that may be less expensive too- for better photos!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
