Question: Can you Bisque fire Raku ceramics in Raku kiln!?
So from what most I've seen in books and online is the people have already bisque fired their pots, and such!. But i was wondering if there was a way to bisque fire in the raku kiln, then glaze and fire again!. So if there is a way to bisque fire it could you please tell me the amount of time it took and if there any extra procedures to bisquing it in raku kiln!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

yes, if I remember correctly it takes about 5 hours, so noticeably slower than a raku firing but also noticeably faster than a conventional bisque firing!. You candle your ware first then go slowly up in about 4 steps to the temperature you want!. Sorry, it's been a while since I did it, so that's all I remember, but I know it can be done!. There are a couple of clay discussion forums, maybe somebody posted something more detailed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
