The emphasis is on the lighting!. The contrast also lies in the lighting!. Notice the deep shadows in the foreground and the brightness of the painters subject!. Patterns and balance is shown in many places throughout the painting!. Notice the floor, drapes, ceiling, even the painters clothing!. The floor is a major part of the asymmetrical feeling of the painting!. The light from the left hand portion automatically pulls your eye toward the subject and the floor pulls your eye to the bottom right!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
