Question: Artists! what kind of job can i get with an art degree!?
I really want to go to The Art Institute of Chicago, i think my major would be graphic art since i love to draw and paint and all that!. But if and after i graduate from there what should i do!? What kinds of jobs are out there that i can make a living with what i love to do!? I kind of thought about being a graphic novelist or a cartoonist, but how would i go about looking for a publishing company, getting my art out there and still having money coming in to get basic necessities!? I am very confident that i will get there but i just don't know what i want to be yet!.

Don't close your eyes or look too narrowly!.
If there is a drawing of any sort in any medium when you look about you, there is a possible job!.
From art teacher to Zoo artist and lots in between!. Don't look for the obvious!
Look at the "artwork" and design just on Yahoo!. Art is everywhere!.
Oh yes, almost all science fiction conventions [as well as anime & comic cons] have art shows and artists! Give it a go! See some of your art!. Make money!. what a concept! Go for it!
By the way there are at least two SF cons in the Chicago area!. One is WINDYCON!. I forget the name of the other one!. I'm sure there is also an anime & comic con in the area!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
