Question: How would i go about becoming a book illustrator!?

Ideally i would love to write and illustrate children's books but i am a very good artist and would enjoy illustrating almost any genre of books!. What exactly would i put in a portfolio and where would be the best places to send it!? Thank you : )Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's a hugely competitive market, and the AOI will get you on the right track!. Publishers are swamped with people wanting to be children's illustrators, so get clued up!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

As a fine artist and illustrator myself!. I say show your client that you can do more than just draw only one thing!. People, horses, houses, background!. They like to see a traditional copy of the work as well (digital work is a bonus)

They want to see your creativity rather than stuff drawn off things!. (it makes your work look rather standard)!.
