Question: Something important to me!?
I have a project in my multimedia class to take 6 pictures of something very important too me in different locations and put it into a collage!. This is a project to test our PhotoShop abilities, not our photography abilities because it's mainly not photographers!. I personally am in Photography 4, so I want it to be more photographic!.

I have chosen to take photographs of the 6 steps I take to complete a Rubik's cube with 6 different people in different locations!. I plan on using my 70-200 2!.8 IS L with my 1DMkIII at 70mm and focus on the cube, with the peoples faces included to an extent!. They will have puzzled faces at the beginning to excitement at the finished state!. Then add a little contrast with a slight vignette to draw the eyes to the cube!.

The question is, where to photograph!. I go to a boarding school so I don't have the ability to travel and the outdoors are my goal!. I could use my fisheye!.!.!. but the IQ comparison is what's driving me away from it for this project!.

Any ideas!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would say this certainly has to be done outside!. Unless you can put a person next to the window and is illuminated by natural light-through the window!. Your lens is too "long" to be used in your dorm room!.

Try outdoor--under the shade, or on a cloudy day!. Something like this:

p!.s!. Your question is not unusual, but when I noted that you have Canon 1D Mark III, it made me think how someone who has that camera (and with a $1,600 lens, no less), is asking where to take photos!.

-----------------

If it's a tight headshot (a full version here http://www!.flickr!.com/photos/little_pook!.!.!. ) - it was shot in front of a house against a white wall!. You can do this sort of photo at any place--making sure the lighting is good!. No flash used here!. You make it sound like you are gated around the clock and can't go anywhere!. (I too, went to a boarding school)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You need to develop sensitivity!. If you develop it you will realise there are millions of places you can shot someone around your school, if your good enough no one should reconise where you shot the images!.

Stop making excusses and go make the images!.

The problem with providing ideas on such a project is that it doesn't fit the requirements if it isn't important to you!.

I don't see any reason why you shouldn't pursue your Photoshop suggestion because, with a twist of the hand, and a touch of the brush, anything can happen!.

Don't accuse IQ for shortcoming!. They aren't relative!.
