I have a Nikon d40, an LCD screen protector is very necessary!. I don't have one, so the screen has Two little scratches- it's a shame Nikon doesn't provide us with one!. You need it though, here's a cheap one that you can buy :

You need it, Trust me!.
You'll Regret it, If you don't

You can also go to Staples and buy a 6-pack of Palm or other PDA screen protectors for about $5!. You can cut one to fit!. It's not as durable as a clip on, but it will work!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are many after market vendors that sell such items!. You can either go on-line of check your local camera stores!. The prices vary, but you can get them for as little as $1!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
