great assignment and question!. try this:
(it is a lot of work but easy when u get the hang of it)
a scale is a rectangle divided evenly to show changes in lightness, darkness, or intensity!. So,
1!. to make your scales, create a rectangle!. divide it into 5 even squares!.(the rectangle can be any size i recommend 1" x 5")
2!. for the tint scale, start with red for example!. put regular red in the first left square!.
3!. paint white in the last square on the right!.
4!.mix red and white equally paint the middle square
5!. add more white for the next right square
6!. add more red for the left over square on teh left (right after the plain red)
upon completion, remember the last (well first)square is plain red!. the colors should look like they flow into each other gradually getting lighter (for the tint) darker (for the tone) and less intense for the alternate shade scale!. mix each combination the same way!.
in the end you need 18 scales, as follows:
1!. red with white
2!. red with black
3!. red with green (it's complementary color for the shade)(for all these complementary shades put one color (ex!. red) in the left square and the other complementary color (green) in the right end square, mix 1/2 and 1/2 for the middle square!. add more green with the square toward the green and add more red for the square toward the red
4!. blue with white
5!. blue with black
6!. blue with orange (it's complementary color for the shade)
7!. yellow with white
8!. yellow with black
9!. yellow with purple (it's complementary color)
10!. orange with white
11!. orange with black
12!. orange with blue
13!. purple with white
14!. purple with black
15!. purple with yellow
16!. green with white
17!. green with black
18!. green with red

dont be surprised when you mix the shades if you see shades of brown that is correct!. good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The second person was right, but here's a bit of help!.
Primary colors: Red, Blue, Yellow
Secondary colors: the colors you can make combining two of the above (for example, blue + yellow = green)
The rest of it is pretty self-explanatory!. You create each color, then you create each of those scales, so for example for the tint scale for red, you start with red, then add a little bit of white, more white and so on until you are to pure white (which means you need to work out a way to add proportions, and maybe subtract proportions of color)!.
And if you don't know what complimentary colors are, you really haven't been paying attention in class!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Obviously you didn't pay attention in class when the assignment was given!. No teacher would give an assignment like that without explaining exactly what she/he is looking for!. Next time, try to stay awake and that should help!. I doubt that you will get this done in one day, but then again if you believe in miracles, then you better start praying!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
