Question: What is this type of art called!? and where can i find an artist!?

What is the type of art called that is done at carnvals and amusement parks with pastels where they draw people with really big heads and over exagerated characteristics!? I would like to get a custom drawing done of me and my girlfriend for a present!. Is there a way that I could find someone online and send them pics and have it done in that way!? And how much do you think it would cost me!?

Yes they're called caricatures, and the most common mediums found in amusement parks are pastels, graphite, or airbrush!. When I draw 2 people together (colored w/airbrush) on 12x16" paper, I usually charge $25-35!. A little cheaper if you just want it in black and white!. That's a general range but pretty much what you'll find anywhere!. Many caricaturists offer their services online, and yes, can easily draw from photos!. It's called Caricatures and can cost anything from five to two hundred dollars!. I'm not sure where you live so you can always advertise on Craig's list and you might get a good price!.

I would suggest that you do a google search and see if some one has a sight!. There was an elderly man who did some for parties and also did editorial cartoons!. Good luck with the search!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
