Position:Home>Visual Arts> D-S-L-R. Which Is The "Best"?

Question: D-S-L-R!. Which Is The "Best"!?
Okay, I'm ready for THE big change - from my Sony DSC-W300 - 13MP 'PointAndShoooot' to a proper, semi - professional DSLR!. I am a (crazy) enthusiast, and I really want to make that step!. But I need to do my research, and wondered if you could help me a bitt!.!.
I'd like a DSLR, with a live view, and a reasonable amount of MP's (10+) - i know these aren't the most IMPORTANT things, but they are a matter to me - and I'd like to buy from either, Sony, Fujifilm, OR Canon!.!.
So any buyers, or proffesionals, could you help me out, buy listing one or two of each, and listing their pro's!?
Thank You SO Much,
and ten points galore, if you can reaaally help!.
MERCI :)

Since you prefer Canon, Fujifilm or Sony, you are looking at the Canon Rebel XSi or the Sony A350!. If you would consider Nikon, add the D90 to your set!.

http://www!.dpreview!.com/reviews/compare_!.!.!.

Sticking to just Sony and Canon, I'd go for the Canon based on their choice of a CMOS sensor, which will give generally better image quality - especially in low light/higher ISO situations!.

The Canon is a little on the small side, so be sure to pick up these cameras in person!.

I'm a Nikon D300 user, so I have a bias for the Nikon line, including the D90, but you'll have to ese what feels good to you!.

Maybe Sony has menu terms that you are familiar with, so that might be a factor, also!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

first qustion how much do you want to invest!? what are you going to photograph!. do you want a pc socket or use hot shoe!. canon or nikon
both good cameras are you going to just use program modes[if you do what a waste you are letting the camera do all the work and you are limited to creating art ] photography is letting you let people see the beatuy you are creating through you eyesWww@QuestionHome@Com

megapixels are not important unless you have a printer that can print at least 20 inch paper!. For super sharp 8x10s you only really need 5 or 6 megapixels!. I suggest the Canon 30d!. It doesn't have live view but it shoots fast and has controls to die for!. It is super easy to change settings and it shoots 5 frames per second for those days when your friend is heelflipping a five stair!. the xsi is a waste of money compared to the 30d, which is way better and more practical!. also, the kit lenses usually suck!. if you go canon, I'd go ef 28-105 usm!. It acts like an l lens, and is optically great, especially for the price!. Once you want to upgrade to more telephoto, you can get the 100-300 USM sister lens!. the body when i got it cost me 750 bucks on amazon!.com, and the lens with the hood was like 300!. well worth it if you don't want to have to buy more lenses in the future!. The only thing I would change about my 30d if I could would be the iso capability!. it goes up to 1600 which is standard, and the noise is exremely low, especially compared to Nikons, but I just wish it went up to 3200 or even 6400 which would be great, because I don't have the dough right now for an IS telephoto lens!. I would also check out Sigma's dslr, it seems ideal for your purposes, and the sigma lenses that go with it are really cheap, and high quality!. I've heard some really good things about it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Personally I like nikon but canon would be my second choice!.
A lot depends on what you want to do with your camera!. I think you should get as many mega pixels as you can afford because you won't just be printing on paper!. You might also be putting your pics on the computer and TV and what all!.
Go to a camera store that sells different makes and models and stand there and ask dumb questions!. The cameras are expensive and the clerk at the store will want to make the sale and so (usually) will try to answer your questions!.
Then go look on web sites and read and compare the cameras!. Then take the plunge!.
also look on the web for the best price!. Sometimes if you find the camera you decide on for less money on the web, you can print the info out and go to your local camera shop and they will give you the camera for the same price!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
