Question: Having trouble uploading RAWs to iPhoto '06!?
So, I have a new Nikon D60, and yes I formatted my memory card before I began using it with this camera!. I've been shooting RAW + JPEG!. For some reason iPhoto will only upload my jpeg's, but never my RAW files!.
I'm using iPhoto 06, in Mac OS X 10!.4!.11

How can I get this to work!?

**yes this is a duplicate post (different categories), I'm hoping maybe photographers will know if tech guys don't!. Thanks**Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't know iphoto but the fact is that it probably doesn't recognise Nikon's raw NEF files!.!. Particularly the newer ones!

I had the same problem with Photoshop CS2 !.!.!. I'd been uploading NEFs from my D70s quite happily!. When I bought a D3, I had to upgrade to CS3 to get it to recognise the new format NEFs with camera raw ver 4!.
(Camera Raw 4 didn't work with CS2)

Uploaders always recognise standard file formats like jpg!.

<EDIT>

Use Adobe Bridge to upload!.!.!. it works fine!.!.!.!. You may have to upgrade to the newest version as your camera was fairly recently added!.

Shooting in RAW gives far more post shot control!. Admittedly, if you get the exposure spot on and are happy with saturation, contrast etc !. then you could shoot in jpg!.!.!.

Me!? I much prefer to shoot in raw and convert later!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you have CS3 you also have Bridge!. Why not use that instead of iPhoto!?

That version of iPhoto doesn't handle RAW files (08 does)

Oh !.!.!. and one other thing: Why are you shooting in RAW!? I know this is heresy to a lot of "advanced" and "pros" !.!.!. but for most of us shooting RAW is absolutely NOT necessary!

Okay, I'm done ranting!.

Good luck with your photography!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
