Go to a museum with really good paintings!. Stand back!. Let your eyes wonder where ever they will!. Try not to control where your gaze goes!. you'll find, no matter where you start, your eyes always seem to end up in the same place!. As your eyes follow the lines in the painting, the lines always direct them to one spot on the painting!. Whatever is in this spot is the focus (the important part) of the painting!. Having said that, there are some really bad artists out there getting their bad works shown!. Maybe you'd be better off going to a library and looking at classical art paintings in books!?

So, why do I say paintings!? The lines in a painting are there by design!. With photography, you have to recognize lines, in nature, that exist, that have this same effect!. Good pictures have good lines - bad pictures don't!. Once you get an eye for good lines, you'll be a better photographer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Its overall appeal!. If it is asthetically pleasing!. Usually you just can't expect to win in photography!. Its really all up to opnion and the use of technique and creativity!. It all depends on what exactly the standards the judges are looking for!. But either way, good luck!!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
