Question: Quick question - will an AA in business and a cert in photography be helpful towards a photo career!?

I am looking to pursue a professional career in photography (leaning more towards freelancing or starting my own business)!. How helpful will these degrees help!? Would I need more!? SERIOUS ANSWERS ARE APPRECIATED! Thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You have an excellent start!. Now you just need some experience!. Find a photographer you can work for as an assistant and get some first hand knowledge of the unique business and marketing concerns surrounding photography and at the same time hone your skills in specific to the field of photography pursued by the photographer you are assisting!.

In a few years, you will be ready to be on your own!.

While you are assisting and learning you can become an associate member of ASMP and NPPA and start networking with other pros in your area!.

And before you set up your own business, you can contact SCORE and start writing your business and marketing plan, a realistic P&L worksheet projected out two years!. And of course during all this time, you can start building your full professional camera system as well as your computer systems (notebook and desktop) and continue perfecting your workflow!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
